At only 27 years old, Jazzmeia Horn, the artist born in Dallas, is the winner of the “Thelonious Monk International Vocal Jazz Competition” (2015) and the “Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition” (2013). Compared to Betty Carter, Nancy Wilson and Sarah Vaughan, Jazzmeia grew up listening to gospel music played on the piano by her grandmother. The year 2018 brought him his first Grammy nomination.
